What is Taskelo?

Taskelo is one page with a few panels: a todo list (today, daily-recurring habits, and a "later" pile), a scratch canvas for notes, a goals workspace for longer-term commitments, a schedule view (typical-week description + a mirror of your Google Calendar you can also publish your day to), an optional chat sidebar with Elo — Taskelo's assistant, powered by Anthropic's Claude — and a daily AI-written brief. Your todos, notes, goals, weekly routine, and any synced calendar events are provided to Elo as context on each send so it can see them; requests transit our worker and we don't log message bodies — see Privacy.

Where does my stuff live?

Your todos, canvas notes, goals, weekly-routine text, and chat history are stored in our cloud database (Cloudflare D1), keyed to your account, so they follow you to other browsers. The browser keeps a local copy as an offline-first cache; conflicts between two devices are resolved last-write-wins per item. UI preferences (panel widths and the like) stay device-local.

Google Calendar events are the one exception — even when signed in, your events are fetched from Google on each manual sync and cached only in your browser. They're never written to our database. See Privacy for the full breakdown.

Daily brief preferences (hosted plan) — your delivery time, timezone, channels, and any custom instructions — are stored server-side, since a background job needs them to run without your browser open. If you enable push, a per-device push subscription is stored too.

What are goals?

Goals are a separate workspace for longer-term commitments — things like "learn French" or "ship v1" — where each goal has its own free-form notes area and a milestone checklist. They sit alongside todos rather than on top of them: a todo is what you're doing this week, a goal is what you're working toward over months. Goals (with their notes and milestones) also flow into the chat prompt so Elo can reference them and acknowledge progress between sessions.

How does the schedule tab work?

The schedule tab has two views. Typical week is a free-form text area where you describe your usual routine ("gym Mon/Wed/Fri 6am, deep-work block 9-11, …") — useful context that gets fed into chat. Calendar is a weekly grid that mirrors your primary Google Calendar, and can optionally show the time blocks Taskelo publishes to a calendar of its own.

Connecting Google Calendar is optional and requires sign-in. Taskelo asks for two scopes: calendar.events.readonly to read your calendar, and calendar.app.created to create a separate "Taskelo" calendar and manage events on it. That second scope confines us to calendars Taskelo itself created — Google refuses any attempt to change your primary calendar, so we cannot create, edit, or delete your real events even by mistake. You can grant one and decline the other. Clicking Sync pulls the next ~10 weeks of events and caches them in your browser. Elo also reads your events when you chat and when it writes your daily brief. Either way, we never store the events on our servers. You can disconnect any time from the schedule tab or from Google's third-party access page.

What is the daily brief?

The daily brief is a short, Elo-written summary of your day — top priorities, calendar conflicts, and a nudge on one goal — delivered by email and/or push notification at a time and timezone you choose. You can add free-text instructions to steer its tone or focus. The brief is a subscription feature: generating it costs model tokens, so it uses the same entitlement as chat.

Does my todo list roll over each day?

No — your todo list is one continuous list and does not reset when the calendar day changes. It follows you across devices.

Who is Elo?

Elo is Taskelo's built-in assistant, powered by Anthropic's Claude. It reads your workspace — todos, notes, goals, typical week, calendar — and uses it to chat, suggest what to work on, draft a timeboxed plan for your day, and write your morning brief. Elo runs on our servers with our API key; it's free for your account's first 14 days and needs an active subscription after that. Our API enforces a daily token cap and doesn't log message contents — see Privacy.

Which model does Taskelo use?

Elo runs on the latest Claude Sonnet model on Anthropic's API.

Do I need an account?

Yes — a free one. You sign in with a magic link via Clerk: no password to invent, no card to enter. That gets you the full workspace — todos, notes, goals, schedule — synced across your devices. A paid subscription (billed through Stripe) is only required for Elo — chat, day planning, and the daily brief.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every new account gets full Elo access — chat, AI day planning, and the daily brief — free for its first 14 days, starting automatically at sign-up. No card is required and nothing renews: when the trial ends, the AI features lock until you subscribe, while the rest of the workspace keeps working and your data stays exactly where it was.

Can Elo be wrong?

Yes. Treat answers as drafts: verify anything important (medical, legal, financial, safety). You're responsible for what you send and what you do with the replies.

How do I cancel or delete my account?

Subscribers can open billing management from the app (Stripe customer portal). Deleting your account from the app removes your Clerk profile, wipes your cloud-synced todos, canvas notes, goals, weekly routine, chat history, settings, gcal sync cursor, daily brief preferences, and any push subscriptions from our database, cancels any active subscription, and drops the Google OAuth credential we held via Clerk. Local copies on the device you're using are left alone — clear site data if you want those gone too (that also drops any cached calendar events). See Privacy for what each processor may retain.
